Founded on the belief that a garden should mature with dignity, Fern Sapphire works exclusively on private estates, embassies and boutique residences. We source natural stone, mature specimen trees and koi personally, and our craftsmen remain with each project from concept sketch to the final stone set in place.

A cramped, shaded courtyard was reshaped around a single reflecting pond and alpine planting, extending the interior sightline and softening the surrounding stonework.

How long does a typical pond commission take?+
Most decorative ponds take between ten and sixteen weeks from final design approval to completion, depending on scale and stonework. The programme includes excavation, filtration testing, stone setting and a settling period before handover.
Do you work outside Tokyo?+
Our studio is based in Roppongi and we take on select commissions across the greater Kanto region for estates of sufficient scale. Travel, access and the required construction team are reviewed during the first site conversation so the proposal remains realistic.
Can you maintain a garden another firm designed?+
Yes. We assess the existing design and offer a stewardship plan, though larger corrections may be recommended. The first visit covers plant health, water systems, pruning history and any safety or drainage concerns.
What is included in a consultation?+
A site walk, an initial discussion of scope and materials, and a written summary with a rough budget range at no cost.
